Please confirm below on blog comments if you are still interested and then we can figure out how much money everyone needs to send to join the class. They charge $450 for 10 to 15 students. If you do comment you are attending, please consider that a commitment since others will be depending on you. Thank you for your understanding. I think this will be a great opportunity for our children!

Home School Ancient Skills Day
Friday May 29th,
2015 – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For this unique
outing, home schoolers will meet at River Camp, between
Cardwell and
Whitehall, for a day of outdoor skills and fun with Thomas J. Elpel
and the staff of
Outdoor Wilderness Living School, LLC (OWLS). Adult
chaperones are
welcome to join the fun.
What
to Expect: Together we will engage in a wide range of
wilderness
survival and
pioneer skills, such as shelter construction, flint & steel fire starting,
plant
identification and uses, grass ropes, campfire cooking, native crafts, and
stalking games.
Lunch:
Please bring a sack lunch and something to drink. We will also
brew a wild tea
and cook ashcakes on the fire.
Weather:
Students must be dressed appropriately for the weather. Spring
weather can be
turbulent, but generally warmer and drier along the Jefferson
River than
elsewhere. We have shelters on site to get out of the rain and snow as
necessary. Expect
students to get dirty and probably muddy. No cowboy boots
or sandals, please.
